· "Living up to one's creative potential might be the simplest way for someone to improve their life... Make creativity a life habit.” ~Arthur Brooks
November 5th- Printmaking and Stamping: In this class we will learn about the process used for creating our own linoleum block print as well as create a personal stamp. By transferring an image from one surface to another, using techniques like carving into linoleum, cardboard and foam sheets one creates a design. Then the printing happens, by rolling the linoleum or stamp with ink and pressing it onto paper to make multiple copies.
November 12th- Soul Collage: Soul Collage is a creative process of making intuition-based collage cards from magazine images and other materials, designed to foster self-discovery, personal guidance, and inner reflection. The Soul Collage process is intuition based emphasizing the feeling and intuition rather than the artistic skill, focusing on the meaning of the images created.
November 19th- Still Life Painting – We will be focusing on color and composition by observing shapes, colors, of a giant bowl of fruit. By noticing the play of light and shadow we’ll create an illusion of three-dimensional form on a two-dimensional canvas using acrylic paint.
December 3rd- Victorian Puzzle and Watercolor: A Victorian puzzle purse is a decorative, origami-like folded paper object, popular in the 18th and 19th centuries, used to hold and deliver secret messages or gifts. A folded note transforms into a small purse or box, with layers of hidden messages, poems, or pictures revealed as the recipient unfolds it. Once the puzzle is folded, we will embellish the puzzle with design and watercolor paint.
